Default [WIP] Anaxagul the Primordial Wild

Hello all. As soon as I finished my New Saranai map, I thought I'd go and make another straight away. I'm really liking this new style I'm developing and I'm taking my time to put in all the little details to make it quite presentable. The process for this will be free form and I'm not entirely sure where I'll take it, but it's actually quite fun going in without a plan. I'm fascinated by botany and ancient plants, so I thought I might create a region of warm, wet jungles and earth-blasted craters. If any of you have ever played the MMORPG World of Warcraft, you'll see that this map is strongly influenced by Un'goro Crater.

I'm not too happy with the other 2d traditional maps I've created here so far, aside from Saranai, but I think starting from now I'll try and stick with this neat and detailed style as I like it quite a lot. Hopefully I'll continue to get better, but I'd say this is a big improvement from my previous work.

    Looks very nice!

I'm always envious of people who can sketch better than I can draw.
Moonflowers is about an Irish guy, an American girl who ends up living with him, and the dog they rescue. Who is secretly the girl's presumed-dead father.

...Yeah, it's that kind of story.

And by story, I mean "fairy-tale."

And by fairy-tale, I mean "the unsettling kind."

    Update.

I'm very happy with the way this is going. I struggle with lighting/shading but I think this is alright so far. Really challenging myself to make things as interesting and give as much a sense of depth as possible. Almost midnight here so lighting it a bit rubbish producing a fuzzy photo. I should also point out that the lines look a bit cleaner and darker on paper than on photo. Need to figure out the best possible photo settings or try scanning again, but scanner isn't too great.

Quick update. Shading isn't quite right on the new hills or plateaus but oh well. I may redo at some point. Working on other hobbies and things so not been working on this much.

Very nice! I love the mountains and hills. Not sure about the cliffs : a bit too dark to my taste (by comparison with the rest).

Haven't worked on this in quite a while as I have been focusing on wildlife/botanical art, but here is progress on what is now called Anaxagul, the Primordial Wild. Hope you like. I'll get around to finishing it one of these days.
