    Default Hello to the Guild!

    Hi all,

    I am a long time "sleeper" I guess you could say. I have been coming here for inspiration and help with the little map making I have tried for a few years now. But I thought I should introduce myself and start sharing my own work!

    I am a graphic props artist with an interest in maps, I love the detail they require to bring the world to life and give it character! And I try and aim for that detail in all areas of my work as well.

    I am eager to learn more and share my work and get feed back from all the talented people here.

    Hello IB, Welcome to the Guild! If you are already making maps, please share.

    Are you hand drawing them, or what software are you using? There are tons of good tutorials around here for just about anything

    I use a combination of techniques. I often hand draw them, scan it and then use Photoshop and Illustrator to make them into finished products.

    Here are just a few of the maps I have worked on in the past year:

    Illyria is loosely based off the kingdom Shakespeare's Twelfth Night takes place in, and slightly more modern than his time. (Illustrator & Photoshop)

    Market Chipping is the small town from Howl's Moving Castle. (Illustrator & Photoshop)

    And Isla Nublar is the island which Jurassic Park takes place on. (Illustrator)

    Unfortunately I don't really have any WIP images for these, that is something I need to start tracking during my work.
