Default July - August Lite Challenge: Map for a Paperback - VOTING

July - August Lite Challenge: Map for a Paperback Time to start Voting.

This months Lite Challenge was to create a map as if it was a commissioned map to go in a Paperback. IE: to be printed on a relatively small page.

We have a lot of great entries which you can see here in our thumbnail scraper. Please look at the full size maps not just the thumbnails.

    http://www.cartographersguild.com/ch....php?type=lite

The Voting will run exactly 3 days / 72 hours. You may vote for as many maps as you wish. The winner will receive a nice Silver Compass emblem.

ALSO: Please REP everyone you feel is worthy, whether you voted for them or not.

    Well Done Everyone, Good Luck

Wow, this was a really tough one to decide on. I really think the quality of maps in this month's challenges was on par with what I'd expect of a monthly challenge. I usually only vote for one entry, but I couldn't limit myself to just one this time around. I went with Eldara by Greatwhitenorth and The North by JonPin. Both looked quite a bit better than most B&W maps I've seen in novels. Also, Chick and ChickPea are both honorable mentions, you both did excellent work as well. DanielHasenbos map was also quite intriguing, but looked unfinished to me. Great work everyone!

    Cheers,

I am never able to vote for just one Ok, not never...but most often there is more than one map that i like enough to vote for.
This time around, my votes go to Chick and Greatwhitenorth. Those two maps grabbed my attention the most and would please me a lot if i saw them in the front of a book. It really is a shame how many books do not have maps at all or have very ugly ones (ugly as in that no thought seems to have gone into them and/or ridiculous continental forms etc. ).

Anyway, congrats to everyone for maps well done.

JonPin got my vote for a lovely map with just the right amount of detail to fit in a paperback - good work all though

    PLEASE NOTE:

I have removed four votes from GreatWhiteNorth's stack. His entry is still valid and can still be voted on until the poll closes.

Sorry I was not around this evening for all the excitement, and a big thanks to the other CL's who stepped up and fixed this problem.

So, with the voting corrected, it looks like we have a Tie for first place by GreatWhiteNorth and JonPin. You will both receive Silver Compasses! Congratulations!

Thanks to everyone who participated, Great work one and all!!

Wow, awesome! I was super swamped and didn't check on CG for a while. Thank you all. I really didn't think I'd win. Congratz to GreatWhiteNorth, well done. And all, great maps!

See you guys in the next challange!
