    Map generic 3d fantasy map

Hi. Some time ago I decided to make a 3d map, that would look kind of like a 2d map, but would be generated from several basic objects based on relatively simple rules and guides (like curves, roughly painted areas etc.) I was hoping it would be really easy to create more specific maps later... well, it's quite easy, but it has some limitations so I abandoned the idea
anyway, here is the map (i hope it's ok to have it displayed like this)

That looks amazing! Can you explain what program and what techniques you used?

thank you. I used Softimage and I created very few 3d models... 1 mountain, 1 hill, 2 different trees... and then scattered thousands of them on simple plane and controlled the color, size, positions etc. with curves and painted areas (you can see them on top left part of the screenshot) and stuff like that

Nice job. Looks really good ... and really complicated!

Yep, looks good, especially the mountains (hills are too round maybe). But, yeah, seeing your explanation screenshot... quite complicated.

Is there ANY possible way to get a hold of this file in a larger resolution? I'd love to use it for my game and I'd like to print it out large format without it being blurry.
If you could do something like it would super grateful!
