    Default Hello guys and gals!

Hello! My name is Daniel Walthall and I am very new to the Cartographer's Guild, but I can already tell I am probably going to love it here. I have been drawing maps for fun since I was a teenager, mostly dungeon maps when I was a DM for AD&D (I wish I had started with the original D&D but that was slightly before my time, haha) but also fantasy world maps, inspired by the kinds of maps you would find in those old Lone Wolf gamebooks and such.

Anyway, glad to have found this place, and I look forward to sharing my maps and seeing everyone else's maps too!

Thank you! Speaking of sharing, what is the preferred way to share maps on this forum? Imgur links, or can we upload images to the forum itself? Or is there an even better way?

    Welcome to the Guild Daniel!

Uploading them to the forum itself is recommended.

Hope to see you around and looking forward to seeing your maps!

You can upload images here. People actually prefer images to be within the site, rather than elsewhere. To add an image, if you look just under the comment box, there's a button that says 'Go Advanced'. Click on that, then scroll down to where it says 'Manage Attachments'. You can upload images from there.

There are some size limits on file attachments, which you can see in this comment. Hope that's clear, but if not, just holler.

If you've got maps that are completely finished that you'd like to share and receive critique, post them in the Finished Maps folder. If it's work-in-progress maps, put them in the Mapmaking Discussion section. There are various sub-folders like Regional, Town etc.

Looking forward to seeing what ya got. Don't be shy now!

crap... well I posted my first map here but of course I didn't realize I was in the dang Tutorials/How To section when I did. I had a different tab open in the Regional/World Mapping forum but used the wrong tab to post. Derp. Could someone maybe move that post or should I just re-post? link: http://www.cartographersguild.com/sh...ad.php?t=34216
