Yeah, my first battle map posted here. I've been messing around with Dundjinni for a little bit now, as I'm starting my own homebrew campaign for the first time!
Any pointers are very welcome!

Hey Eon, welcome to the guild, & to DundJinni. Good start on making Battlemaps with DJ.
Now for some pointers. First & foremost, lose the yellow grid. The yellow default grid is universally disliked. Maps look nicer with no grid at all, but if your style of gaming requires a grid, then change the color & opacity. I like a black grid at 25%, some people prefer a dark green grid also at a low opacity, especially for outdoor maps.
A fort like this certainly has 5' thick walls, but the inner walls should be thinner. Try 2.5' thick. For smaller buildings I use 2 or 2.5 for the outer walls and 1 or 1.5 for the inner walls.
Try some different wall textures. After I make the walls I use the fill tool to substitute different textures to find the ones I like best.
For the outer walls I would try a darker stone.
The objects that come with DJ are pretty good, a few, like that Oak Tree are spectacular, but there are thousands of user objects covers walls & floors that let you make your maps unique. The search function on the Dundjinni Forums will let you find tons of stuff. Also I have a thread here on the Guild with over 500 objects you can use in DJ. Check this out: Mapping Elements Thread Page 1 of 155
And if you are interested in seeing some of my maps to get ideas, then check out my gallery Bogie's Gallery
Your map is a good start, with a good placement and use of textures. As you learn to use the program you will be able to do some cool stuff with DJ.

Hey, thanks so much for the tips and pointers, I must admit I've used your maps a lot in private games (with credit, of course) and you are actually something of an inspiration heh.
I've got a few user made things, but made that one before I figured out how to add them in.
