    Map The Frozen Wastes

Commissioned map for "A Glorious Death." This was the final version out of four versions I started. This one was an ass kicker, i was using some colors I am not used to using like blue.

water color, ink, marker, gel, and pencil on mixed media paper.

This is a low res-water marked version.

I am not the artistic cartographer, I am more the detail and precision type of guy (for exemple, when drawing a forest I will do hundreds of small trees instead of a dozen well drawn ones). Therefore I do have a hard time to know what to say. Anyway, here goes!
1-I like the icy islands, or icebergs on the west!
2-I think you should add a scale (though I should do the same >.>) because right now it feels like a map of squareness.
3-The colours are cold and stony. Fits well with the name!
4-I believe you should have an Icecap somewhere, may it be already melting, forming or just standing there it's up to you!
5-Your symbols are hard to find. If they have some transparency, they camouflage in the decor. I would make it a darker red.
6-Probably most of my comments are not that good either lol...

I think all your points were good. The reason there is no icecaps is because this part of this world isn't known to be near any ice caps. The dragon fang mountains are the farthest south any one has been. also the art order didn't say anything about them hah!

Very original style, not my usual kind of map, but I like it. Thanks for sharing!

I like it. Especially the Norse influences. They fit with the frozen wasteland theme.
