So the way I found this site was by a google search, looking for some programs for mapping out MUD and other text based games. I found a post that was back from 2009/2010, and thought I would ask again to see if any new programs have come out. Right now, I'm using Mud Map (http://mudmap.sourceforge.net/), but it's got a couple of problems. You can save the maps as an image, but it only saves what can fit on your screen. You can zoom out, of course, but then the room names dissapear, and it becomes very hard to see the lines, ect.
Another problem is that, even though you can't see it, it does work on a grid system. Normally, that's not bad, but the problem comes in when you put rooms next to each other. It becomes slightly difficult to see the exits. You can fix this by simply placing the next room two spaces away, instead of just one, but then we go back to the previous problem, where your map is too big to save a decent picture.
Other options that I've found have been Argon (http://lauzet.com/argon/), but this program is only free for the first ten maps, then it wants you to pay for the next thirty, and again for every thirty after that. I've also found scripts for various programs, but they always seem to have errors. I'm no programmer, so I have no hope of fixing them myself. Or, they're meant for zMud/CMud, which you also have to pay for. I'm using a free client called MUSHclient, which I know has mapping capabilities, since Aardwolf has maps, but I'm not looking to make maps for Aardwolf.
Of course, I know I could just use Photoshop, Illustrator, or Gimp, but I like the idea of having a program or script that does some of the work for me, such as drawing the exits, having custom symbols for locked doors or custom exits, ect.
So, TL;DR, do you guys know of any programs that help to create maps for MUD games?
