    Map The Isles

    Hi all!

Since this is my very first post in the forum please be gentle.

I would like to share with you the maps that I create for a DnD campaign. I do not run the campaign but I am appointed as the official cartographer

The world is Agaeda. It is composed by two major continents with ocean in between.
In this post I present you the map of an island complex that lies in this ocean. In the campaign it is known as 'The Isles'.

I am not a graphic designer and I cannot even proclaim myself as an amateur cartographer.
I use paint.net, a lot of imagination, and advice from these forums.

Comments and criticism are more than welcome.

    Thx for your time!

This is a really interesting map! I like your sea monster (I seem to be partial too them!) and your compass rose. I also like the shape of your islands, and the whole 'gritty' feel to your map. I also like the two toned ocean! That's really cool

I will admit, I'm not too fond of the color scheme... it's just a little too jarring for me, especially in the land masses. I probably would have gone with softer, more muted colors... but that's just me. Over all, it's a very nice first post!

I really like this, it all works really well together, is the orange mountains? Like the grid too as well. Nice job.

Thank you for your kind words.
The colors indeed look a little saturated. My pc monitor shows the image a bit different.

The ocean and the land mass where created via the rendered clouds method.

@snodsy No this orange should be actually brownish an picture a no vegetation area...

Very interesting style and a well done map. I really like what you've achieved with the colors. I've just one critic : the red labels and cities are really difficult to see, imho.

It is too red-ish for my taste. I would like a more subtle/natural result... I'm thinking of making the labels black. Any other suggestions?
