    Default Hey there!

Hi! I am Aaron, I have been drawing maps with pens and such for about 3 years. I want to start making maps on the computer. I will possibly need help with that, for all I know how to use on my computer is MS Paint, and for many, many years on MS Paint, I only made ships! But, now its time for me to make maps on the computer at least! haha. But, yes guidance is much appreciated! For me atleast... But anyway nice to meet all of you, I hope to contribute in some way to this forum!

MS paint is NOT the way to go for mapping. I would highly recommend GIMP, it is the most common for a free program, it is quite similar photoshop (which is excellent for cartography). Hope that helps! If you need help just ask. I can try to help you with whatever you need. I use photoshop but I know my way around GIMP as well.
Also a must-have for digital cartography is a drawing tablet! You should be able to get one for under $100. They're really excellent devices, I couldn't imagine drawing maps with a mouse.

There are quite a few guildmembers who still do pen and paper maps, you can post some of yours in the Finished Maps section. You should get some feedback and comments.

Hope to see you around, and looking forward to seeing your maps!
