    Post Mi Kee World Maps

I'm starting as an Author a 10 year project.
I've created the idea of an off world planet and using old C3 map-making designed a basic world - quite an extensive one. Now I need to learn Gimp2 and start to make dreams and blurry images into a world that I will write about.
I'm not a well-known author but I have written 6 Novels and a Poetry book and hopefully I have improved to the point where I can have fun and for me just write. Not interested in fame or anything just good writing and as part of that I need to translate images to Gimp and define a good copy of the World I've invented.
Not asking for people to do it for me but I know help will be needed and I'm not big-headed, and I still have to invent the characters and write the stories for this world.
You can get me on Twitter as @DavePage999 if you wish.
    Many thanks.
    Dave

Hi Dave, welcome to the Guild.

The best way to get going is to pick a few tutorials and work through them. Even if you don't want your map to look like those in the tutorial, working through a few will teach you techniques that you can bring to your own maps. Gimp is used by many people here, so if you're stuck with something, don't be shy to ask.

This is our tutorials section. We've also got a nice 'Quick Start Guide' and there are also a bunch of downloadable PDF tutorials in this thread. You can post your maps in the Work-in-Progress folders as you develop them, or there's Finished Maps if you're completely done.

    Good luck!

Thanks. I'm already looking and will seek advice.
