Hello everyone!

I've played with conlanging and world-building on-again-off-again for a long time. This time around, I am writing a novel in a new constructed world (hopefully to become more of a series, with each novel focusing on a character in a different nation), and figure it's time to roll up my sleeves and actually be more serious about building something.

And the "welcome to the forum" email said to post here

I've come here often enough to learn more about cartography that I figured it would be useful to have an account, so I can better track threads with new information and things like that.

My interest at the moment is a full-world map, with the continents still pretty rough, so that I can figure out a climate map. As I visit particular locations from there, I might try to flesh out the maps more, though time mapping is time not writing

Anyway, I'm happy to be aboard, even if I'm not going to go as deep as some people do here.

I also meant to add that I am humbled to see the sheer talent and awesomeness displayed on this board. As someone whose talent lies far more with words than with drawing, I can only hope to get halfway to the artistic capabilities of people here. It's nice to be part of a community with such a high bar to strive for
