Hi All,
I've joined this forum because I have always had a fascination with maps since I was a kid and have created some very amateur artwork in Gimp and Inkscape but never had the idea to connect the two.
I tend to swap between programming and artwork every few months because it's a different mindset.
Anyway, from the finished and works in progress I've seen here so far; there is much to learn and some very impressive artist to learn from.

Hi Corstar and welcome. If you've made some maps that you'd like to share, feel free to start a thread, either in Finished Maps if you're completely done, or one of the Work-In-Progress folders if you'd like some advice. There are lots of tutorials for Gimp that you can download too.

My previous vector work is basic to say the least, but I enjoy the process. I haven't focused on maps too much, mostly random objects and vehicles. I'm really liking the free flow that cartography seems to follow.
