    Default New guy here!

    Hello!

I just picked up CC3+ the other day after being pestered into making a map for my DnD game.

I was quickly growing hooked on the map and am looking to get my hands down and dirty. For the moment trying to wrap my head around gimp/inkscape, it's not going very well thus far xD

Anyways, I hope to recieve endless amounts of inspiration and feedback from the community here, it's awesome being here!

    Cheers!

PS: If someone know any good tutorials for gimp/inkscape/photoshop off the top of their head, I'd be happy if you passed a link, god knows I need them!

    Hello SerKharl

I'm a little confused by your post. Is it that you can't get on with CC3, or gimp/inkscape/photoshop?

You will find a whole load of tutorials here in the tutorials section for gimp and photoshop.

If its CC3 that's the problem I would very strongly recommend working your way through the practical exercise contained in the user manual, and/or visiting the Profantasy forum for help and support.

    I hope that helps

Oh, sorry if I was unclear on it all. It's all simply because I'm completely new to it all.

Of course, I hope that my map quality will go up as I learn more, and I've been having quite some fun looking through the tutorial section already.

as far as CC3 goes, I'm getting used to it, I mostly need to work on actually positioning everything now more so than the actual act of drawing in it.

with gimp/photoshop on the other hand, I am a complete beginner, so I'll just have to learn it piece by piece

I saw the later post you made on the tutorial only after I made my previous post on this thread, so some of my information was already useless to you anyway

You will probably end up preferring one more than the other in the end, but well done for trying everything all at once. I think that would completely overload my poor little mouse brain! LOL

Oh indeed, I am sure I will end up deciding on something in particular. I just want to give everything a fair try. I've had some good fun with CC3 thus far, and I'm curious to see how making maps in PS/gimp is compared to it.

And of course, juggling everything is going to be hard, I'll just have to take it slow. I've already seen so many maps here on the forum that make me want to just sit down and go at it.

Only having gotten into maps properly last sunday, I've still got a long road ahead of me, but I will simply sit and chew through tutorials, making the occasional map here and there for practice.

Keeping my focus on overland maps for now though, so that I don't fry my brain completely xD
