    Default Alcubierre Starship

Inspired by Gameprinters spaceship deck plans I decided to make my own (to rest from my other project) but got carried away making the actual ship shape to work with. so i thought id start by showing you the ship and then ill start posting the deck and schematic plans:

The ship has two sections, the craft and the warp torus, here is the ship undocked and docked to the ftl and space bound warp torus, the craft can land. the main craft is is 454 meters in length and 308 in width.:

I like your modeling so far, Stargate SG1 inspired, I see. I look forward to seeing your interior layouts, and am glad I inspired you!

Cool idea and ship. So when traveling through space the torus is bound to it and it only separates to make landings? Very clever. I was recently trying to figure out how to start designing a ship and the obvious is start with its mode of locomotion the main focus of which is likely an FTL device or engine of some sort. The approach you have to solve this is great.

Very nice! I assume you're working with Blender? And yes, very cool idea about the Torus. Didn't they used this in one of the Stars Wars movies (1, 2 or 3)? I can't recall.

Well yeah there is something like it in star wars, but like star trek it was spot on with what we currently know about warp drive as an FTL tech, it needs a large and thick capacitor ring of sorts to generate a negative and positive warping field.

1,500 feet long and about 1,000 feet wide?! I don't want to be anywhere nearby when that behemoth lands, but I'd love to see the deckplans!

Doing so, just outlines atm and sketches but will soon post something. its big but most of its volume is a kind of aerogel to store hydrogen and deuterium. so infact is far lighter than it seems.

This is very very cool. I'll be watching this to steal... err learn things from.
