Feb 2017 Challenge: The flat world

Big fan of terry pratchet i've often wanted to try a map of a flat planet, and this month theme seems perfect for that
I'm still playing with the concept, trying things but here's a first wip.

i see you know our sir pratchet world as well
I'm working with qgis and photoshop, i draw a classic vertical map in photoshop and then import the result in qgis to get the map in 3D using a DEM.

I saw your tuto on Qgis and downloaded the french version. I have to find time to play with it.

I may try to add Atuin the great turtle! but i'm already having trouble to show how the ocean vanished in space so i'm not sure i will be able to do that but i'll try for sure

With this type of flat world, I've often wondered "where does the water keep coming from? Why doesn't it run out?" Of course the easy answer is "magic" but how else is the water replenished?
