    Wip Thoughts on these highlands?

Supposed to be rugged but not mountainous.

They're lovely, hereiam - extremely well drawn

The impression they give me is one of a hilly area, which I guess is what you were wishing to convey, since you haven't said very much about them.

I'm also admiring your forests, which will probably have quite a lot of admiring eyes roving over them. Trees and mountains - the way they are depicted - are both very big subjects around here

+1. Agree with everything Mouse said. I particularly like the transition between the two types of forest.

Thanks for the compliments. Is there anything there that you think could be improved or looks off?

The coastline seems pixelated in some places. Maybe add more variety to the sea by breaking the light and dark areas more.

It's looking very good, and the forests are indeed quite nice! I would add more color/shading to the other elements in the same manner, but I suppose it will come in time .

It's looking excellent indeed, but (there always got to be a"but", huh?) the way the highlands are placed and shaded makes it look like the terrain is going downhill towards the northwest and the forests are on a plateau. In this case some your rivers would be flowing uphill, but I reckon this isn't the case at all. Optical illusion, innit?
