    Default Mountain technique test.

Hello all. I am a newbie map maker. I use Paint Shop Pro, mainly because it was the most affordable software at the time, and its the one I know. Anyway, I am not up to the level of the cloud technique I see used so well on many maps. Not sure I can get that to work with PSP and it seems pretty complex but I wanted something like it. I had an idea about using the "inner bevel" 3d-tool to make mointains, it turned out pretty good I think. Has anyone else tried this? Or is there another easy mountain technique that makes better mountains?

Looking good. Two observations. The main ridge is a little too straight and smooth. Needs some distortion and break-ups here and there. On the other hand the transition from mountain to grassland/desert is happening too suddenly, I would blend/blur the textures on a broader scale and perhaps add some bumpy hills. Otherwise this looks like a promising start.
