Hi Lone Wolf and welcome to the Cartographers' Guild! When i started playing rpgs, we've been only two guys and these sessions have been a lot of fun back then. We didn't play with premade scenarios though. Many rpg scenarios are written for a group of ~ 3-5 players, but a lot of them can be reworked for only one player (and the GM ofc) i think.
I also would recommend to have a look at the many websites where you can play rpgs with other people online. I think https://roll20.net/ is a rather popular one but there are others too. I have never played online but there are many in a similar situation like you who play this way.
Maybe some people here have more experience with this sort of software and can give you some hints.

Hey Lone Wolf, go join roll20 like Abu suggested. It is a big portal and every day many new sessions are being made looking for players. I joined some couple of times and it has mostly been fun. Now playing there with my friends regularly since life led us to other sides of the world and we can meet in person so often. Would recommend it to everyone interested in D&D.

    Cheers,
