    Default March 2017 Challenge : Map a voyage by water

    This month's challenge is to do a map depicting a voyage by water, may it be by sea, river or lake, on a sloop, galleon or giant turtle and for whatever adventure or delivery you want!
    You can also decide to use some random elements, generously provided (as the idea of the challenge) by Mouse (here) :

    Dice 1: vessel
    1 = coracle / canoe / raft / rowboat... or other very small one or two man vessel.
    2 = fishing boat / dredging vessel / tug... or other type of commercial 'working' vessel.
    3 = gunship / battleship / aircraft carrier... or other type of naval vessel
    4 = submarine / amphibious land vehicle
    5 = pleasure boat / cruiser / ocean liner (larger recreational / leisure craft)
    6 = sailing vessel (any kind)

    Dice 2: water body
    1 = River
    2 = Inland sea
    3 = Ocean
    4 = Canal
    5 = Flooded area
    6 = Reservoir

    Show us some leagues under the seas, search for the Nile's source or any wonderful travel - and hopefully not too moisty - map!

    THE SMALL PRINT:

    * The challenge will run till 1st April (no joking, but you may add something fishy to your map). It'll likely close in the evening of the 1st GMT, which is several hours earlier than usual, since I'm in a different time zone from Diamond.

    * Name your entry threads like this: March 2017 Challenge: YOUR TITLE HERE

    * DO NOT forget to put the ### Latest WIP ### tag in front of/above your work-in-progress pics. There's now a WIP button in the control panel. If you don't put that tag in, your entry won't show up on the thumbnail scraper and probably won't be visible when it comes time to vote. The scraper will only pick up one image, so don't include multiple images in your WIP posts.

    * Voting will last three days, after which the winner receives a brand new, polished and shiny Golden Compass!

    If you have questions about the challenge, go ahead and ask them in this thread.

    OMG! both my favourite ideas at the same time!

    Wouldn't miss it for anything though, so I guess I'm going to be drawing simultaneously in both the Lite and the regular Challenge!!! LOL!

    Well by the dice I've got a sailing vessel in a flooded area!

    Guess I'll have to make up quite a story

    This is the page if anyone else wants to do it by dice

    I'm thinking steampunk. A Victorian steampunk submarine/flying machine exploring the canals of Mars, 1888. But then I'm always thinking steampunk.

    Yeah, that certainly should be awesome to try out. Better watch out for the red weed getting caught along the keel!

    I used actual dice for mine and got the rather dull 2,6 in comparison (Fishing boat in a reservoir). Still hopefully should have a bit of fun with it!
