Default The Eastern Shores of Ehren

This has been a long time in the making but it's finally done. In the end I decided not to add labels to the sea, I really wanted this map to be simple, and after seeing it with see labels it all just looked too busy, and cluttered so I removed them, I hope you like it.

I want to thank everyone who helped me along the way in the WIP thread which you can find here https://www.cartographersguild.com/s...ad.php?t=34904 without you're help, and support I never would have finished this.

I like how you ignored my comment on the WIP thread about making the cliff faces more crinkly - seriously. They wouldn't have gone with the mountains if you'd altered them

A beautiful map! Congratulations on finishing it

Beautiful work, for which you were really invested. You have not left the slightest detail at random and it shows well in the end on the map: it is very consistent, both complete and not too charged !
    Congratulations on your hard work!
And a special bravo for the forests: a really excellent rendition: discreet and well present both, which makes it very realistic !

What an amazing map! I adore the style, particularly the parchment-like colours and the mountains. I'll have to learn how to do those! I find your rivers mesmerizing, the way they change in width continually is something I frankly cannot recall having seen before in that fashion.

One minor thing I don't particularly like is the style of the cliffs, but that's personal preference. The execution is still great, just not my cup of tea.

Something that immediately pops into my head is the question of how the bay/gulf/inner sea in the center is going to shape political conflict and warfare in the world, as well as trade routes and cultural exchange. It strikes me as quite mediterranean, and I think that's great for a fantasy world. Especially the islands surrounding Tiael, Velas and Esadhas seem to be a great way of controlling trade routes and sea faring for those who control these territories. In other words, great landshape design!

Thanks Max, I'm glad you like it as some of the style choices were definitely inspired by you're beautiful map of Elandaria.

Thanks Mouse, But I wasn't ignoring you're comment I was just too lazy to finish up the cliffs properly, I just wanted to be done with it. I really should have done more, but like I've said before I have a love hate relationship with this map and you couldn't pay me enough to work on it any longer.

Thanks Lucifer, I will have to credit Max for being the inspiration for the forests, and rivers because I was trying to do them similar to his Elandaria map, if you really want to be mesmerized you should check it out here [/url] https://www.cartographersguild.com/a...chmentid=61091

I hadn't really thought about the politcal aspects of the map, but this is a huge area so I imagine there would be some interesting things going on. Down at the bottom around Anuwa, and Sahgea there is a sub tropic climate, and just below this map if you pass through Teanmar and follow the river down you'll find yourself in a wild and untamed rainforest. I imagine the areas around Vohran, and Teihel to be a temperate climate sort of like the east coast of North America, and above that I picture Esechk, and Tenyngar to be rather cold. I did originally want it to have a Mediterranean climate, but this is part of a larger world that I was working on, and it just didn't fit if I flipped it.

I meant that you did right to leave it as it was

I was a big fan of this map from the beginning, so i am glad to see it finished!
I still think it is a very beautiful map. Well done, Kacey.
The only thing i'd change if i could is to give the forests a bit more omph (make them a bit more pronounced and use a stronger green color). Otherwise this map really "speaks" to me

If i can, i'll Rep you.
Edit: turns out i can't I'm a bit surprised because i spread lots of rep around imo...ah well...next time, i promise

Thanks Eilathen, I was actually thinking about you when I finished this up. I was very seriously considering adding more to the forests because you had mentioned it a few times before, but when I realised I didn't have the tree brush installed on my computer anymore I just said screw it. I wanted more then anything to be done with it so I did cut some corners in the end. I do agree with you tho, I think it probably would have improved it some, but I'm glad you like it anyway, and I appreciate the kind words.

Such a beautiful map, Kacey! I love the color choices, the subtle forests, the clarity... quite everything, in fact .
