    Map Village of Birchdale

I've "finished" a map for an upcoming rpg-session, which I'm decently satisfied with. There's still missing some details, such as most of the river flow, a few fields, more individual trees and fencing, but there's not really any time left for that now, and sometimes you just have to learn when to let things go.I would, however, love some feedback on two things for future projects.

First off, any ideas how to make the forest a bit less flat would be greatly appreciated. I really didn't think it through, considering most of the map is forested. Secondly, I have no real idea how to make convincing ruins. Like, at all. Any other feedback is, of course, greatly appreciated as well.

Hello Jizerai! nice first map I realy like the roofs and the cemetery! as you said there's still missing some details, but for the forest I think a simple texture would do the job, I took the liberty to add a "forest texture" to your woods, I hope to gave you an idea!

    Default cool

Unless you where looking for a specific ruin you could always just copy a picture online and then post it in your map, I did that a bit with houses and it's not that bad looking.

Very cool map. It may be rushed in the end, but it doesn't bother me as I look at it.

Here's an example of a map that shows ruins. Perhaps that might be useful reference for you. https://www.cartographersguild.com/s...ad.php?t=23952 (Ruins of Dragonport by Arsheesh)

Thanks. Liberty away! It does look a lot less flat. I'll take a look at what can be done with something like that for future iterations and/or projects.

Thank you. Yes, something like that. I think I get an idea on how to work my way there. I suppose there's no substitute for trying and failing, until you get it right! - or less wrong, at the very least.
