    Default Your ddvice on my city maps

    I'm about to release a campaign for my world (le Dodécaèdre, in french). I need expert's advices on maps. Here's the first one, the smal town of Arfiorre

    Hi Snorri, Looks pretty cool. There is a nice value balance between the thick and thin lines. The font makes me feel like the map is for an older city that had a printing press but no typewriters.

    The map looks great as is but perhaps if you still want to tinker a bit the sharp vector lines could be degraded a bit to make the map feel a bit older.

    I was looking at you city blocks and some questions/thoughts sprang to mind. The center block has only one entrance. Are the blocks made up of lots of townhouses or is it more like one large building?

    I was just imagining the protagonist of a story running after or away from an antagonist into that courtyard. They would be trapped unless they broke into the building. Great for a chase scene!

    That map looks pretty good, Snorri. I think you have a very good layout to the city, and the shapes of your buildings is quite realistic for medieval European towns. I think you could have more internal courtyards and buildings behind the main ones, and there'd be no harm in adding a few more alleyways into the courtyards, but I don't think it is absolutely necessary.

    The style is very simple, but effective. It makes a very clear image.

    Is there anything in particular you want advice on?
