Help First Time Making a Fantasy Map, Please Burry Me In Advice

Hello! First time poster here, and I thought you wise folk would be the ones to ask!

I've recently been working on creating an in depth map of my world, Viranna, and have been doing a lot of research on the subject.

I decided to plot the map using a program called Hexographer, and am attempting to closely mimic the Earth. Thus each Hex represents 72 miles of distance. There are 360 hexes at the equator, and a total of 180 hexes vertically. My planet is just slightly bigger than Earth, but this way I didn't need to worry about fractional hexes. I then implemented lines of latitude to determine my climate, and used one hex to represent a single line of latitude (thus 180 vertical hexes).

The basic structure of my world is a close mimic of earth, thus the biomes and environments should be similar by latitude line.

Using the information found in "A Magical Society: Guide to Map Making" (which can be found here http://www.rpgnow.com/product/55266/...society+a+guid ) I've learned that I need to add rain shadow around my mountains along with some other obvious key features to the world such as rivers, lakes, etc.

So I guess, here is my question! I've already colored the map to represent the type of climate by latitude, but am not sure which portions should be forests, plains, moors etc.

Any help would be wonderful. Specifically I'm looking to know where the following would fit, Deserts, Forests, Jungles, Moors, Plains, and Swamps.

Below I've attached a link to my map and the worlds climate and air flow by latitude.

    Welcome, Osellic.

The two guides I reference these days are actually more extended threads on the subject. Pixie started this https://cartographersguild.com/showthread.php?t=27118, and then Azelor followed and expanded with this.

Take time to browse everything - other maps, forums, and tutorials - where you'll find information you didn't know you were looking for on making maps.

    And again, welcome.

Thank you very much, I will eagerly devour those readings.
