Default A Land of Forty Clans: Kyrgyz Republic

Special thanks to soaringaven for helping me with Inkscape and in helping with layout. Thanks also to those in the Cartography chat on skype with helping me choose the colour scheme!

This is a piece of Alternate History based around the 2010 South Kyrgyzstani Ethnic Clashes and Tension that resulted in over 80,000 displaced.
Loosely based on Ukraine Crisis, and Russian invasion of South Ossetia.

I have a special place in my heart for Kyrgyzstan, I absolutely love the nation and it's people!

    !!Alternate History!!

    -------------------------------
    Uzbeki-Kyrgyzstani War of 2010
    -------------------------------

Clashes between Kyrgyz and Uzbeks in Southern Kyrgyzstan, primarily in the regions of Osh and Jalal-Abad erupted
in May 2010 over the ousting of President Kurmanbek Bakiyev. Anti-Uzbek mobs assembled throughout the countryside
and cities to remove Uzbeks from Kyrgyzstan due to claims over wealthy Uzbek land owners buying out large swaths of
land and consolidating political power withing Kyrgyzstan. Initial clashes were not put down by local authorities leading
to bloody ethnic clashes. Local tensions erupted when the government offices in Osh were seized by "Uzbeki National
Front" which stated it's demands on a referendum in the regions of Osh and Jalal-Abad to join Uzbekistan. The Armed
Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic were sent in to quell the violence, however were helping expel local Uzbeks out of the
region. This lead to Uzbekistan to send in troops of their own to help "safeguard their people, interests, and support the
Uzbeki National Front". After months of fierce fighting and pleas towards the UN, Russia, China, and U.S.A. a cease fire
line was drawn between the two nations. Fighting still continues on a daily basis however the borders rarely change
beyond a kilometer or two. Large quantities of foreign volunteer fighters flock to both sides to join in on the fighting.

    Wow! Very nice map

Pseudo-real world politics confuse me quite a bit, so I can't really comment on the backstory, but I love the simple flat colour, and the precision.

    Very nicely composed.

I might be wrong, but there is just the possibility that one of the layers has slipped out of position by about 3 pixels or so. The regional borders on the bottom right map don't seem to line up with each other as precisely as the rest of the map - a couple of ends stick out out beyond the borders they intersect, or don't quite seem to reach them.

All in all - more than rep-worthy

Damn, I will have to go back and edit a few things or perhaps redo this project in the future. This piece was finished in Oct 2016 so it's been a while haha. I'm trying to slowly show my maps on here since I just signed up and I feel that spamming them out is not going to go over well.
