Wip Renegade Legion: Ku Crassus (Doing it like a GIS boss)

    Howdy!

I'm new to the the Guild, I've been world drawing with pen and paper for years, but finally I'm transitioning to doing it the hard core way. Which means GIS.

Blending old school and modernity, I thought a fun project would be to start with an old map, in this case the map of Ku Crassus from Renegade Legion.

Using a process very much like the one detailed here: https://astrographer.wordpress.com/2...nto-flat-maps/

I put it into an equal distance projection:

Tracing over it with Global Mapper and then putting it into a Winkel Tripe:

There's a lot of things that I'm still trying to figure out next, such as how the cratons fit and how the rivers and forests make sense.

I want to take this land mass and use it as a start point for breaking up and creating a world with more land masses in it's tectonic future. Good learning experience for Global Mapper and g.plates if nothing else.
