Help Hello world-makers, I'm an author in search of map makers for a forth-coming novel.

My name is matt, and I'm an aspiring novelist, working on my first one. It is historical fiction, World War 2, espionage and guerrilla warfare. It takes place in Yugoslavia, the Caribbean, and an undisclosed location in Latin America. I am in need of maps. Three, to be exact. The look I want is reminiscent of a wood-cut print, but clear enough to easily read labels and see symbols. While I would love to make them (any help is greatly appreciated) I am also exploring what it would take (time, expertise, and money) to commission an expert map maker to offer a sample of work.

Hi Matt. Firstly, welcome to the Guild.

We've got an area in the forum dedicated to mapmaking requests, and you'd be better posting there. Not everyone checks in on the Intro threads, but mappers looking for commissions will always check the Mapmaking Requests folder.

Take a look at this comment before you post. It outlines the sort of information artists are looking for to assess your request.

I hope you can find someone to work with, but if you'd like to have a go yourself, have a browse through some tutorials and see if anything catches your eye. If you need help with something specific, start a thread and ask away.
