    Map Kingdom of Amarrias

The Kingdom of Amarrias, part of a homebrew RPG setting.
I really loved doing this commission as it was for a happy occasion: it's a surprise present from Cat Bat for her husband for their wedding!

    Amazing! You've outdone yourself!
Joh, I have so many questions...

How did you make the place icons for the cities and castles? Did you start big and made them smaller?

And how long did this map take you?

I would like to know for how much you asked for this map. A reference if you will. (PM me if you don't want to post the price here.)

You certainly gave them one heck of a map

    Hey XCali,
    thanks for the praise.

For the recurring symbols I started about 25% larger than they ended up on the map, though I do keep the originals as reference in the files in case something needs to be changed at the eleventh hour.

Total time spent on this must have been somewhere in the range of 22-25 hours, but that includes revisions.

And yes, I'm also quite happy with how the map turned out. It's a bit darker and less saturated than my usual fare, which is something I really like about this, and Catherine was rather ecstatic about the end result. Enough to actually give me a small bonus! The additional money is nice, sure, but I found it far more satisfying that someone liked my stuff so much that they were willing to put a little extra of their hard-earned money on top of what we agreed. It's both elating and humbling at the same time.

How did you do that border? I think it fits the map tone really well!

The stained glass title and the northern trench are my favorite parts in a great map

I don't know if there is an answer other than... I drew it? Basic form + additional lineart + grunge brush.

Thank you. They were the most time-consuming parts as well.

Nice work on this. It's a very eye-catching map, although.... those dark, shadowy areas look a little terrifying! The cities look great and I love your mountains.
