January Entry: Reimagining the Strand

I've been looking for a reason to redo this map for a while now, and it just suddenly occurred to me that now I have one.

Here's a seriously scaled down WIP. My computer is choking on the original PSD.

WOOHOO! Yet another entry, and this is coming along nicely.

The rivers do seem a bit wide though - is that intentional?

I hadn't really noticed it before, but now that you mention it...

(I'm assuming that the judging will be on image quality and not size, because I've scaled this down considerably in order to post it.)

Ahhh yes, much better.

I think everyone pretty much knows that the quality of the posted image for judging won't be as good as the actual.

The more I play with other maps I've been working on, the more I find that can (should) be applied to this map as well.. so here we go.

I believe this is probably finished, especially considering that either today or tomorrow is the deadline, but you never know I suppose.

Very nice IG! It has an almost 'mystical/magical' quality to it, kind of like your looking through a slightly foggy window/mirror.

Every time I post this I think of something else that needs to be done. Here, I've completely redone the mountains for something more in line with the style of the rest of the map, and I played with some saturation on other places as well.
