Tutorial May/June '18 Lite Challenge: Isle of Gee-ems-brain

    Hi Folks,

Here's a little something on working on for the challenge...I'm trying to do it an Ai but that program DOES NOT WANT TO BEHAVE! But I have to persevere because even though it's annoying, it is a very good program when you figure out how to make it do what you want.

Anyhow, I present the Isle of Gee-ems-brain, preliminary line work at this stage, more to follow - I hope!

LOL. Served crumbed and deep fried with a side of chips and salad, a nice glass of red and a sriracha mustard...

Just for you, Bogie. At the moment apart from colouring in Ps, that's my biggest struggle...labelling.

    Thanks Jen.

Here is a mock-up of the Key/Legend. Symbols are just placeholders at the moment. I'll cut & paste the terrain symbols and use chess pieces for the demographics or some such.

Encounter Difficulty: Each named location will have in brackets a designation for the breakdown of the various encounters to be had at that location.

For the non-gamers - shame on you, D20 (Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder etc) games are level based games and use the Average Party Level (APL) which is the average of all the player character levels to determine the difficulty of a given encounter, e.g. a 4 player party with 2 PC's at 3rd level & 2 at 4th level would have an APL of of 3 (14/4 rounded down). D100 (Call of Cthulhu, Runequest, Mythras, Legend etc) games are skill based and difficulty is increased or decreased by increasing the appropriate skills of the antagonists based on the players characters average skill levels, e.g. in a combat encounter with the same party of 4 (a fighter , priest, thief and sorcerer) with combat skills of 60%, 70%, 65% and 75% respectively gives an average of 68%, this is what the adjustments are made to.

So as an example, the notation would be something like this: Valley of Death (10% E, 30% N, 40% H, 20% D) meaning 10% of the encounters are Easy and so on.

Here is an update, such that it is.

Colour is most definitely not my thing... Have to work out labels etc and re-format the key as well.
