Map Zephyre City, my first city map

    Hello folks,

Today, I present to you my first city map. It's more a city grid than a city map as I did not draw all the tiny buildings but I'll get there.

It's a map for a graphic novel that should hit completion around May of next year but the client, Samantha Miller, generously allowed me to share it before. It's a near future setting with very different districts (different because of the income of their inhabitants mostly). It was fun to do and I managed to surpass my biggest block about cities : the believable city grid (I'm not afraid to draw buildings, I swear).

As always, let me know your thoughts, critics and comments.

Wow! that's very different to your usual style!

A nice clean map, though, so congratulations on your first city

Thanks Sue It's indeed really different from my style and I think it's what I needed to enter the world of city maps swiftly. I have more cooking in a different style but I definitely have to try and forget my fears and dare to take the time a city map demands.

Thanks Rafal I almost went overboard and added more buildings but time was already scarce and it's not going to improve in the next month but, you are right, it would be pretty cool.

Merci beaucoup Beee A very demanding world indeed. I think I'll keep letting those request come to me and not poke them too hard

Merci Julien I have to admit SimCity was a great help for buildings

This turned out great. Whilst it's fairly simple in style, it'll work perfectly in a graphic novel.

Looking forward to your next city map now you've got your feet wet!

Thanks Ruby It is simple indeed but does the job. I'll have to jump into the city-sea, you're right.

Nice to see this one finished Thomas! The map itself is very simple, but the illustrations still make it pop
