Map Novel Map Commission - Vas Ehries

I always love commissions where clients give me a little bit of free reign, and this one said "go right ahead" when I asked if I could add some sea beasties and ships and other fun elements to fill in the blank spaces on this map, so I had a lot of fun with those. After doing several full-color maps it was a nice change of pace to go back to the simple black and white. To suit the setting of the book this map accompanies, I drew inspiration from some old 18-19th century styles.

    Done in Procreate and Photoshop.

Great job on this, truly. I'm not entirely sold on the font used here, but the drawing quality is top-notch! I especially love the way you did the coastlines.

Alas, I seem to be out of rep!

Oh noooo that's my favorite font! Hahaha. At least it's not Comic Sans, right?

Thanks all! For the comments and the rep!

Always a fan of maps that aren't overly cluttered. That makes them so much easier to read, and this is a great example of that kind of map. Well done, hopefully your client is well satisfied with the result.
