Default Castle and village of Karnberg

This little map/drawing shows the vicinity of Karnberg castle, which is located near my other town (that still doesn't have a name). It's again drawn using the same techniques, essentially a pencil drawing with shadows done with watercolours.

There is a WIP thread for this map which i will link here; in that thread you can also find some bits about the background story of this castle.

PS: I was much too lazy for a fancy border this time...

Looks really good; the shading really makes the details pop!

Thank you very much for the nice words, all of you!
I was actually not that happy about the shading this time, especially in the background areas, however the most important shadows turned out pretty good, like the main cast shadow of the castle.

PS: The thing that makes me most happy about this one is mainly that i managed to draw a map that matches my own expectations about detailing and content within four days though

That is amazing! I love the style. The difference in sharpness between the buildings and environment really draws your eyes to the buildings. nice!

Glad you like it, and especially the second sentence, because that was mainly what i tried to improve over the last maps. Makes me pretty happy to hear that it seems to have worked

Thanks a lot to you too for the kind words! ...even though i'm less happy with the shading on this map than on the other ones before - maybe i just rushed it a bit.

And to everyone: Many thanks for all the rep you gave me for this one, even on the WIP thread, which i did not expect at all, since this is only a small work with not too much content, nothing compared to the other ones on which i spent months. So, thank you very much!

Fantastic work ! I really love the realism of this drawing ! The architecture of the church shows evolution in time, and the detailes houses are really "selling" the whole map !
