    Default Bear Island by Jaxilon

I'm finally able to share a commission I completed quite a while back.

The client had very specific demands and needs for this as it is for use in a game they are developing.

You may notice fortresses at either end of the island. There are also special locations I'm sure you will find.
I think what I like most about this is how the texture of the land turned out, especially along the southern coasts.

I have included labeled as well as unlabeled versions just because there where a lot of labels.

Fun concept and very fine map . One of the thing I love with this map style of yours, it's the striking look of the volcanoes.
The base water deep blue is a bit dark for my taste (makes the rest of the map pop, though).

Thanks Ilanthar. the Brood side of the map had to be dominated by the volcanic aspect and I'm pretty happy with how that turned out.

Hahaha, you know, I don't know other than it was representative of the smoke that rises from the area. I'm pretty sure the smoke is removed in the actual model.

I think it's interesting how the river only flows from one lake to the other, it looks like a very interesting place to have a game. The way you've done the undersea shelf is really beautiful I like it a lot. Bear watershed is especially nice.
I know, it's a lot to bear . The actual meeting in the center where the lava and the river come together goes underground and the water then returns to the sea up through the undersea shelf you mentioned. At least that's how I recall it. It should be filled with steam from the clash of elements.

I really enjoy this style of yours! As others have said, the volcanoes in particular look fantastic, and I also really love the way your sea looks around the shorelines. However, and I cannot believe that I of all people am going to say this, I'm with Ilanthar on the darkness of the ocean. There is also a pretty strong noise effect, and I think on Bearskin hill it stands out a little too much.

Minor hiccups, however, and as I said this style deserves kudos for its originality alone! The fortresses look amazing too.

Thank you very much Kellerica. I see what you mean on the Noise effect. I'll have to check some of my newer work to see if I've changed that. I really do appreciate the feedback because I can get better faster when I have it.

Cool idea, that's for sure, and nice execution.
