Default Jörðgarð Map of the Week #387 - Black Fortress Dungeon Cave 1

    bfdungeoncave1_3000.jpg

Map of the Week No. 387 is from the forthcoming Jörðgarð Trails adventure "A Tale of 2 Books." This week we take a look at one of the five caves at the dungeon entry of the Black Fortress.

This cave is a non-harmful dummy. It has nothing of value except the lantern. The bronze doors are not locked. Behind the bronze doors is a second unnatural cave with dimension of about 12 x 15 feet/3.6 x 4.5 meters. In the room is a small wooden table with a lantern, two unused torches, two bronze chainmail shirts and a climbing rope upon it. There are two torch sconces without torches in them on the walls. To the back of the cave is an open wooden shelf about seven feet/210 cm high. It reaches nearly to the top of the 12-foot high cave ceiling. There are tunics on the shelves. There is a small amount of space behind the shelf. There is nothing of importance here.

You can get this dungeon plan in two versions:

    1. The Fractal Mapper (TM) 8 version in FMP format (1.9 MB) from the Jörðgarð website.

    2. As a JPG flat map of 3000 x 2400 Pixels (2.8 MB) above.

Both versions are released for personal and commercial use under the Open Game License Version 1.0a, which you can read on the Jörðgarð website at:

I like how the cave walls are done. The 2 things that catch my eye are the chainmail shirts are to small relative to everything else and the wall sconces are not touching the walls, just floating in the air.

Maybe not. It depends upon what kind of creature they're intended for. But I can say no more, because some players who are going through this campaign are readers here, and that would bring us into spoiler territory.

the wall sconces are not touching the walls, just floating in the air.
But now the egg's on my face, because I'm the one who did the final edit on this map, and I certainly didn't catch that.

Here's the fixed version, as per the discussion above.
