    Default The Sewers of Hofendal

"Deep below the the old city of Hofendal are the sewers. Apart from a foul stench, these tunnels are home to another terror.

Since long ago, the kings of Hofendal have used kobolds to keep the sewers clean and functioning. They were forced to live in the sewers and not allowed to enter the city. Every now and again, kobold would come to the surface and the king's men would force them back down, sometimes carefully reducing their numbers to keep them in check. In the past decades, no such thing has happened.

In fact, more and more often, sewers seem to be in need of maintenance. Somehow, the kobold have stopped doing their work. When the king sent men to inspect, they did not return.

Talk has come from nearby villages of people turning into vicious rats and rumour has it that a similar plague has come to Hofendal. Surely this couldn't be true. Or could it?"

The Sewers of Hofendal bring a new level to the modest capital of the kingdom of Rasfadal. Venture underground to rid the city of its vermin, or maybe use these tunnels to move around the city unseen. Either way, beware of the dangers that lurk below...

This map shows the sewers of the City of Hofendal.

Ooh, this baby's got a kick to it! I love how the underground elements are lifted to be the main focus, the thick black outline really makes it stand out perfectly. The sepia tone looks great. A really great piece, has to be my favorite from your work in a while!

    Thanks Kell!

Thank you all for your compliments! I was afraid that with recycling the Hofendal map, and the lack of detailed line art, this map might seem like a low-effort thing. I'm really happy to hear it looks good!

Works very well! I wouldn't be surprised to see it on a D&D manual at all.

Definitely a clever way to represent sewers, and the whole piece is still attractive and aethetic. Good job, as always, Dan !

Very efficient way to show the sewers & underground levels, indeed. And with your talent, it's doing wonders .

Very nice map. But I'm totally on the side of the kobolds in this one!
