    Default Happy New Year!

Welp, midnight is creeping ever closer over here, and 2019 is drawing to a close.

Happy New Year to every one of you beautiful people in this fine Guild! We're about to head into a new decade, and I look forward to spending it mapping with you all. Let's make 2020 as awesome as can be!

Happy New to you all and hope that we have a great 2020.

I feeling a bit sad over hearing the death of Syd Mead. He was inspirational to me and was basically the reason I got into computers in such a big way and did software and ended up writing mapping software and then ultimately being here on the guild. He got to 86 so I guess it was a long a good life but one always wonders what art would have come out of such a person. There are many other concept artists but none quite like him. I collected his work though it was scarce, always very hard to come by, and usually expensive even for his prints and books.

He lived a long and satisfying life.
    And left an incredible legacy.
I think his work and spirit live on in so many works and the influence he had.

Happy New Year to all of you!

To a new year of friendly exchange, awesome maps and other fun shenanigans!
The guild is really one of the most friendly places on the internet and i always enjoy being here. I am always floored by the amount of talent and skill depicted here and i love that you are all so generous with sharing your knowledge and expertise! Please don't change, you all!

Have a nice day and keep it up, fellow guilders!

Kell: in Finland, do you even get to see any daylight at this time of year? I'm in Denmark, and we only get a few hours a day
