    Default Cyberpunk Upscale Alleys map

Okay, decided to create an upscale urban alleys map, at encounter scale 72 x 72 inches (the largest encounter scale I can normally create). This could fit cyberpunk, modern, near future sci-fi. Realistically, these are wider than alleys, with room for two vehicles to pass each other, but this area is designated pedestrian streets for upscale shopping and night time entertainment - a good place for a shoot out, I imagine.

Going down the left side, I used many of my urban locations from my recently published cyberpunk set of maps, because they fit the dimensions! A pawn shop and an electronic repair shop with a shared no parking area, below that is undercover cybernetics clinic, what I'm calling a power up station - imagine an energy drink lemonade stand with a floor that will power up all electronic items you carry/wear for a small fee, and a gun shop below that.

Center left from the top, a burrito stand with a shared garbage courtyard behind it, Hotep's Casino below it, a luxury hotel below that. Center right from the top is a women's shoe store with an insurance sales (or other) behind it, a women's fashion clothing store, then far down to the bottom, a fitness gym and attached nutrician store.

Going down the right side, a ramen stand, a convenience/liquor store, the Black Dahlia Jazz Nightclub/Dinner Theater, and a loan shop.

On the streets are open markets for flowers at top and fruits and vegetables at center.

This was about a 4 day project. Some of the locations like the women's shoe and fashion store was a struggle, since those are places I have little interest - so more work to actually create them, realistically!

This is mostly created using Xara Designer Pro x11, with some elements created in 3D - modeled in Wings 3D and lit, textured and rendered in Vue Creator... enjoy!

Did I say I was done? I guess not.

This one was actually easier and faster, being entirely in 3D, except for the interiors which were cut and created in Xara Photo & Graphic Designer 365 - my vector drawing program. Again, this fits in modern, super heroes, cyberpunk, near future modern, any urban setting needs. This is the Waterfront, the industrial docks for the city. Same measurements, 72 x 72 inches, or at encounter scale (1 inch = 5 ft), this 360 x 360 feet.. enjoy!

Nice work. But I don't understand the shadows on the upper center. It seems to be in the wrong direction. It should be towards the right bottom like the others, and this one is towards the left bottom.

As far as I can tell the shadows are right in both maps. In the top map, the light is coming from the top and the right. In the second map the light is coming from the top and the left.

On the second, the shadows of the crane (or the gate I don't know) that is on the top of the second image are casted to the bottom left. If the light is coming from the top and the left, it should be casted to the bottom right.

That's not a gate, it's a crane, but you're right, the shadow does seem wrong. I did this map in 3D so once the sun points in a certain direction, all the shadows should be the same, but they're not - that's odd.

I realise now. It seems that there is some inconstancy in the lighting. The shoadows of the poles ont the dock are also casted to the bottom left. Have you create some different source ?

I fixed the shadows, and I released this as a map product at DrivethruRPG.
