Hello Everyone,

I'm a GIS Tech, but lately I've been burning out on the technical samey maps I work with every day and want to explore what drew me to the profession in the first place, Cartography. I came across several inspirational fantasy maps that have put a fire in my soul for developing more artistic enjoyable maps for my own world building and fantasy rpg projects. Plus I need an outlet where I can relax and chill.

This seemed like the perfect place to improve and discuss techniques with people who share a similar interest in these things.

Sounds like you have an interesting background! My own maps have always been on the more fantasy/artsy side of things. I actually can't read real maps worth a damn and have the navigating skills of a rock. A colossal cosmic joke I find maps as beautiful as I do, really.
