Wip Sample Map for a click-and-place Hachure-style Set

This is my favorite era of map and I wanted to show it a bit more love. My other set (Lehmann) is a bit more daunting, so I figured I needed to make a new set that doesn't require as much Illustrator knowledge.

(For those unaware, hachures are those fuzzy caterpillar lines that became popular in the late-19th century and were the precursors to our modern topographical maps.)

Not sure on the release date yet. Still feeling out the set as a whole.

Promising, Alex, as always ! You always help me to discover details I missed on historical maps.

    Thanks, Misty!

With every set I make I find I'm learning something new as well, keeps it interesting—I think spending so much time with the nitty-gritty details really helps with that.

Here's where I ended up. All in all, I think this is a really effective set. Captures that transitional stage of the late-18th/early-19th century.

I'm still a bit away from launch (I make these sample maps to test these sets out to look for weird errors/bugs.) But, as always, I'll be sharing the brushes I used over in Mapping Elements.

And the set is now live in case anyone wants to go make their own hachure map.
