Default Satori -- Gold Rush Route

    Hello Guild,

Here I am again, attending to my great passion for creating maps with realistic looking topography, using the only software available to me, Wilbur and GIMP.

A few days ago I started a thread in the Regional Map Forum entitled "Florentina," which was the basis of this new map, except that this time I'm using some fractal parameters. I don't how "realistic" this map looks to the trained eye, as it's quite easy to spot the river routing error at the top center, which I couldn't undo as the entire map has been cropped from a 2000x2000 pixel original. (In other words, I didn't intend for the rivers to drain upward.)

One major problem with GIMP is its tendency to blur and lighten rotated text; thus, I've avoided rotating many labels for this very purpose.

Also, I've tried to make this map as uncluttered as possible to serve its purpose, to highlight the major towns involved in Satori's gold rush.

As a final note, I hope this map makes someone besides my girlfriend (and my cat) happy.

I hope you are all well and safe during these times.

    Peter

Really nice and the colors you have chosen for the elevations look great! Why is it a problem though for it to drain upwards (unless there is no sea on the far edge of the border)? I know there are instances of rivers draining north in the real world (like the Nile).
