Just a place holder for now, as I have only just decided on what I wanted to do.
EDIT: Early WIP of some of the terrain. Oodles and oodles still to do.

Great tree pattern, just need to touch up the non-repeating. Oh, and don't kill your shoulder

Great start! Looking forward to seeing where this goes! I really love the tree texture, but I'm not sure what the double line is supposed to represent.
Poop! Didn't notice the tiling or how blurry it is at full rez.
@Ascension - This should be a bit more shoulder-friendly, not nearly the same amount of work as my last city/town
@Ravs - The rocky lines are for cliffs, eventually there will be waterfall(s).

Those are pretty cool trees. How did you do them?

@StillCypher - It's just a texture with a drop shadow and a bit of gaussian blur.

OK, I was playing around with the Fantasy Wars map editor, just to see what it can/cannot do.
It has a relatively limited terrain set and you have to keep launching the game after you've rendered the map, but they are fairly nice.
Doubtful I'll use this unless I get in a bind and don't have time to finish my original idea.

Should be pretty cheap now (it's about 2 years old), I think there's a sequel out to it now too.
FYI...that is a very small map (12x8 hexes or so).
