Map Jan/Feb '23 Lite Challenge: Mageshade

Hello to anyone who happens upon this thread, and I hope you are well!

I was pleased to see that there was a bi-monthly challenge that feels approachable and really wanted to contribute something to the CG community. I am currently trying to get into my first tabletop but have been having trouble trying to figure out how to solo a module. The Lite Challenge gave me the push that I need and the inspiration to choose my own fate..

Mageshade is the first of (hopefully) a full sandbox style world that I will create as I go. It seemed so much easier to generate new content using a few charts and some oracles, so Mageshade is the starting point for my very own adventure. The base layer is hand drawn on some large graph paper, and the coloring was done with GIMP.

If the post preview is posted as I see it, then there should be two additional thumbnails that contain the two page strolling introduction into Mageshade.. something simple. A task every novice adventurer has had to tackle.

Welcome to the challenge! And nice map so far. It's cool that the challenge gave you that extra little push. I wish you luck with this journey.

It's really great to be here, and thank you. The original intention was to draw it out by hand and leave it at that, I'll share the original scan here:

Thanks for the extra luck, XCali. I'll make a special luck card and bust it out in a tough spot to roll with advantage for one round.

Nice, although that second page of the introduction is a bit blurry. Great to see a new face jumping into the challenge. Good luck.

Thanks for the heads up, Greason. I will take some time in the next day or so to clean it up. There always seems to be resolution issues when exporting pdf to jpeg.
