Very cool. Not only do you have that CC3 look (without using CC3) but you've gotten depth with those cliffs.

Actually, I think he is using CD3 for the basis and then using Illustrator to spice things up.
EDIT: I have been comparing some maps, and I guess you don't use CD3? You got me confused Ignore my next question if you do not use CD3.
Anyway, very nice looking. The cliffs are certainly far more spectacular than anything I have been able to pull off. Could you post a version of this map how it looks in CD3, so we can compare? I am very interested to see how the cliffs looks in CD3 (to see how much post work you done on them).
The layout is also very nice. Seeing cliffs like these and a river, I would love to see another river coming from the cliffs and merging with the main body of water. This would of course mean a waterfall
Maybe you could also add a watermill, like I recently did in my Groenwoud map.
Great stuff!

Looking fab! The only crit I have is the road from the town to the castle interferes with the cliff effect, I'd be tempted to have the road snaking off picture from the town and then another road snaking into the castle from the same side of the image. Nice work!
Ravells thanks of the great idea about the road to the castle. I have incorporated that idea in the newest version, and will post after I am finished with the waterfall idea from gandwarf.
Great map mox!
I like the layout and the stone texture you have used. In my opinion the fields are a bit too blurry.
Nice work...

Looking very nice, great layout. I'm just a little distracted that your pond has no inlet or outlet. The addition of one, the other, or both would , IMO, be an improvement.
________
Add a smaller course roughly perpendicular to the present river, run through the pond, add a bridge or two over it (as needed), cut some fields minimally, add irrigation ditches from new course. (My .02, sorry to be a pain in the a**)

Could be a small pond that is fed by rain and ground water, though?

As the officer on duty I'll say that this is fine...spring-fed pond. We've got them all over the place here where I live.
