Post I have come to steal all your map

    techniques :p

Nothing much to say, I'm new here and I've recently gotten into mapmaking (or rather got into it some years ago briefly, stopped, and just picked it up again). You can see my meager amount of stuff here.

I look forward to cartographic geekery.

Welcome to the guild and not too shabby work there...your dungeons are quite nice. I see that you know the lighting effects filter that I also use for mountains and I see that you are familiar with Pasis' technique for mountains. I think that your learning curve will be quite shallow as you're well on your way. Poke through the tutorials section and polish up on some of those and you'll be uber in no time.

Yeah I found that thread earlier today when I was looking for better ways to make mountains. I stumbled on that technique just messing around a while back, couldn't make anything that looked halfway decent with it and ended up ditching it to try other things. What Pasis did wasn't incredibly different but wow what a difference it makes.
