Wip August Entry: Oten-jo (SG Style)

OK, not sure if I'll have time to finish this or not, but I thought I'd at least get started and see what happens.

Not much here as of yet outside of the basic terrain and the canal.

    Post Yay!

Yay! SG, is giving Oten-jo, a shot. Do try and finish, your last unfinished city map was looking great before you stopped. I know you can do this. I look forward to see where you take this!

Well I hate to say it but it looks like I'm probably not going to be able to finish this. I'm not throwing in the towel quite yet, but things aren't looking good at this point.

    Wip Latest update

I'm still not sure I'll have time to finish this, but I did find some more time to work on this today. It is a long way from being finished but I thought it was at least worth posting.

I re-oriented the map, to make it easier to work on. I may just end up leaving it this way. *shrugs*

I had to reduce it from 300ppi to 200ppi in order to post it, so the quality isn't quite what it should be.

Those buildings look beautiful SG. Still a lot of work to do, though.

    Wip Today's update - a bit more done :)

@Gandwarf - Thanks I got a bit lucky and stumbled across an idea that seemed to have worked.

    OK here is today's update...

    1. Added the city walls, towers and gates.
    2. Added stream/creek and canal gates
    3. Added basic city road network and bridges (very rough at this point)
    4. Added the paths/roads inside the castle grounds.
    5. Added 1 of 3 temples (loosely based on the Golden Pagoda temple)

That's about it for today. At least its starting to look like something now (Just not sure exactly what )

    Wip Today's Update

    Thanks Ravs...

OK, here's today's update. No huge amount of changes, but progress is being made. Though I'm still doubting I'll finish it by the deadline.

    - Added 2 more temples
    - Added docks/wharves
    - Added warehouses
    - Added Shrine/Park
    - Added bridges
    - Started on Samurai district

I'm going to redo the roads except for by the docks/wharves.

    So as always C&C welcomed.

Wip Light at the end of the tunnel?

    OK, made some more progress today. Actually had to go back and re-do parts of the map;

    1) Expanded city walls to cover 'Warehouse District'
    2) Reworked entire road network
    3) Moved temples to better match placement of GP's "guide map"
    4) Expanded shrine park
    5) Fixed some of the bridges
    6) Redid warehouses
    7) Completed most of the merchant district
    "Dirtied up" areas between buildings

Still a long way to go, but it's looking much better that I can maybe finish by the deadline on Wednesday.

So as always feel free to leave any C&C...

The uploaded version is at reduced size, resolution and quality to meet forum limitations.

Oh yes, please do finish - i LOVE this.

Of course I say that after I look at the latest for each entry...

    Voting will be difficult indeed!!
