    Post Untitled Island Continent WIP

So been up all night working on this. Used Ascension's tutorial with a bunch of modifications.

Big thanks to Coyotemax who has been giving me tips and pointers on MSN

Things left to do, but I am tired now.

    Thoughts?

I really like the burnt look, and the coast line decorations are very nice, but it's a bit obvious how some mountain brushes are used more than once - at times, right next to each other. Maybe vary the size, at least?

I like it. The decorations in the left-hand corners go quite nicely.

But I have to agree with Alfar about varying the mountain symbols a bit more.

That's exactly what it is, good untrained eye

Okay here is the latest update.

Need to add cities and towns, but otherwise it is mostly done.

    • I changed up the mountains
    • Added some forest
    • Tweaked swamps
    • Chopped open the inner sea
    • Changed font
    • Added plaque with scale
    • Adjusted the desert
    • Felt a sense of accomplishment

    Thoughts?

I think the mountains are much better now, a better 'mix' of the individual shapes.

    Thanks.

Oh and a question for the River Police.

Between Country One and Two there is a swamp. Originally I had it as a river/channel that was actually a floodplain.

I took the river marker out as I fear the River Police... but now I am regretting it.

Any thoughts on how I could do it without it being a glaring violation?

Also a note for everyone, this is my "give something back" map, which I will be posting at the two rpg boards I frequent (Troll Lord Games and Goblinoid Games) and offering it up for anyone who needs a world map for a Fantasy campaign world

Much like this place, those two places are just full of nice folks

Well that's sort of the idea I am going for.

Between the two it is mostly salt marsh, but sometimes it floods and ships can actually navigate a channel through it.

The question is any thoughts on how to represent that on a map?
