Trying for an evocative begining to a city sub-adventure.
This map was created enirely in photoshop using the Vintyri building symbols. I wanted to have the feel of a crane shot from the opening scene of a muder mystery.

Looks nice and clear. I might consider a few colour and dirt layers to make the buildings look a little less identical.
Much, much nicer than when I started gaming .

Dollhouse Syndrome = The temptation to turn a map into a picture, obscuring the goal of the image with the appeal of cute, or simply available, parts. Maps have clarity through simplification.

Maybe. One thing that has often struck me when looking at photographs of estates in many cities is how uniform and anonymous the roofs are.
This map was inspired by a scene from a TV show. Every building was so non-descript.
Technically correct in being identical yes. Aesthetically speaking it's all too identical. Ya need some smudges n dirt here n there, shrug...unless these houses were built yesterday I'm not sure what the funky blur around the edge is for, though.

Okay. I guess this should be moved out of finished maps then.
Na, not at all, just throw some grunge brushy stuff in there on the roofs and re-upload.

Added grunge and so forth...
heh, just toss a grid on it, and you could use it for a battlemap or VTT layer.

Looks good . Nice idea and effects
Now that's what I'm talkin about. Excellent. Really adds some character.
