    Default Hello

It'd be rude not to say hello, so here we are. I found my way here courtesy of the Propnomicon blog, no surprises there given my username. I've been through all the Cartographers Choice maps and here's hoping a bit of the talent and skill on display rubs off.

I think my love of maps started when I read Lord of the Rings a good few years ago now, I remember keenly following the fellowship across Middle Earth. Ever since, a map at the back of a fantasy novel or an RPG book has filled me with glee.

Projects I have in mind include a couple of expedition maps for a Call of Cthulhu campaign i'm working on. In good time I hope my magnum opus will be a rendition of the maps of the Mittel March given to Ulrich von Bek by Lucifer in Michael Moorcock's novel "The Warhound and the World's Pain"

Welcome! Since you're a Call of Cthulhu fan, you might be interested in this thread, which contains links to floorplans of 19th Century asylums.

That's great, always nice to see some asylum plans. I'm from England and within a couple of miles from my house whilst growing up was a late 19th century mental hospital and 2 1930's mental hospitals.

Welcome Cthuglha, looking forward to seeing those H.P. Lovecraft inspired maps. Check out the Tutorial's sub-forum, there's lots of great walk-through's there to help you get started on those maps.

    Cheers,

I could try a map of R'lyeh but I don't have a 4D screen and I think it may make my brain dribble out my ears. I've had a quick sniff through some the tutorials and I have to echo the sentiments of quite a few posts, it's great you're all so keen to share.
