    Default Greetings From Chicagoland

Hello, I'm from NW Indiana and closing in on 30. I've been an avid gamer for well over a decade and a storyteller to boot. I started making hand made maps about 7 years ago and want to jump into making city, dungeon and eventually world maps for my Steampunk Fantasy campaign world.

I've been looking for something that can produce the same quality of maps that SkeletonKey Games creates. I'm fairly sure my answer's going to be to cave in and buy CC3/DD3 and CD3, right? I'm fairly good with Photoshop and enjoy the story above the mechanic any/every day.

Welcome. If you're already proficient with Photoshop, that will probably be your best bet for mapping. There are plenty of Photoshop-based tutorials here for you to try.

Welcome to the Guild and I second the Photoshop route...at least give it a go first since you're already familiar with it. It offers the most flexibility. If you have it and can use it, Illustrator might be of some value as well.
